Saving Grace Homeschool is an accredited online homeschooling distance education provider recognized by SACAI. In the FET Phase, which encompasses Grade 10 to 12, learners transition from being considered home-schooled to distance-learning learners. During this phase, they have developed the necessary skills to manage their own learning, with appropriate supervision.

Our CAPS-aligned multimedia video lessons at Saving Grace Homeschool are specifically designed to prepare learners for the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination at the end of Grade 12. This examination marks the beginning of their chosen career path. It is important to note that the NSC is a three-year qualification, and each year must be taken seriously to ensure success.

In the FET Phase, learners are required to complete seven subjects, with four being compulsory and three being electives. The compulsory subjects include two language subjects: one home language (English or Afrikaans) and another language at either the home language or first additional language level (English or Afrikaans). Additionally, learners must choose either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy as a compulsory subject. Lastly, a compulsory subject in life orientation is also required.

  • Our innovative approach includes the use of prerecorded video lessons to prepare students for assessments and ensure their academic success.

     

  • Saving Grace Education is registered with SACAI as a Distance Education Provider. SACAI is the assessment body registered with UMALUSI to provide the National Senior Certificate (Matric Certificate

 

  • Saving Grace Homeschool provides learners with access to the tasks, tests and exams that must be completed to obtain their Matric certificate at the end of their schooling period as prescribed by the policies pertaining to promotion in the CAPS curriculum.

  • These assessments can be grouped together and are called the Site Based Assessments (SBA). To obtain a matric certificate a learner must successfully complete all the SBA’s from grade 1 to grade 12.

The assessment and moderation process

  • One of the key components of accreditation is assessments. Assessments play a vital role in evaluating students’ progress and understanding of the curriculum. At Saving Grace Education, we implement a comprehensive assessment system that aligns with the CAPS curriculum.
  • Our assessments are designed to measure students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding across various subjects and grade levels.To ensure fairness and consistency, we also emphasize the importance of moderation. Moderation involves the review and standardization of assessments by qualified educators.

Grade 10 -12 - Compulsory subjects

COMPULSORY SUBJECTS 

 

  • With our CAPS-aligned Prerecorded Video lesson taught by SACE Register teacher , learners are prepared to take the final NSC examination at the end of Grade 12.

 

  • During the FET Phase, students must complete seven subjects, of which four are compulsory and three are electives. The four compulsory subjects in Grades 10–12 include:

 

  • A minimum of one home language (English or Afrikaans)
  • An additional language at either the Home Language or First Additional Language level (English, Afrikaans )
  • Life Orientation 
  • Mathematics OR Mathematical Literacy

Grade 10 -11 - R2000 Per month - R24000 PER ANNUAL grade 12 -R2200 PER MONTH - R26400 PER ANNUAL

A laptop is mandatory along with a WiFi connection to access and enjoy our Online Homeschool.
